My name is Mehrnoosh Kazeruni and I am in my Second year of a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, under the supervision of Professors Eduardo Ruiz. My thesis project is about the development of an eco-friendly thermoplastic composite material from waste tires and biopolymer
2) What was your method of explaining your thesis in 3 minutes?
My general approach involves raising awareness among the audience about the pressing issue of extensive plastic production and usage, along with its negative consequences. Subsequently, I propose a solution aimed at overcoming the current situation.
3) What inspires you to do research?
I worked in a 3D printing company, and each day on the job was consistently exciting. I decided to explore deeper into this industry, particularly focusing on environmentally friendly materials, as they are one of the most crucial elements in 3D printing. Additionally, I am keen on sharing my knowledge through teaching. Conducting research not only enhances my understanding of the field but also helps improve my soft skills.
4) If you have to dedicate your research to anyone in the past, present, or future, who would it be and why?
I would like to dedicate my research to all people on the planet who actively contribute to environmental preservation through various means, with a special emphasis on those engaging in research to increase awareness. Environmental challenges affect every corner of the globe, and the dedication extends to those who, in their unique ways, work towards sustainable solutions.
