Documents supporting your student status

Upon their arrival at Polytechnique, at the latest before the deadline for modifying the course choices, all candidates must submit the documents confirming their status in Canada to the Registrar, as indicated below.

The amount of tuition fees to be paid depends in great part on your status in Canada and assessment of residence in Quebec.  Canadian or permanent resident students and international students must pay a higher tuition fees than Canadian and permanent resident students who qualify as Quebec residents under Ministère de l'Éducation definitions.

 

If your are Canadian citizen - Resident of Quebec
  • you do not need to provide any documents if you are studied in a CEGEP and you are indicate your permanent code in your admission application
    Otherwide, provide copies of:
  • your birth certificate issued by Directeur de l'État civil with the first and last names of your parents
    OR
  • your birth certificate with the first and last names of your parents
  • AND your certificate of Canadian citizenship (front and back)
  • AND your Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ)
If your are Permanent resident of Quebec
  • your birth certificate with the first and last names of your parents
  • your permanent resident card (PR - front and back)
  • your Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ)
If your are Canadian citizen
  • your Canadian birth certificate with the first and last names of your parents
    OR
  • your certificate of Canadian citizenship (front and back)
If your are Permanent resident of Canada
  • your birth certificate with the first and last names of your parents
  • your permanent resident card (PR - front and back)
If your are Refugee
  • your birth certificate with the first and last names of your parents
  • the document issued by the Government of Canada granting you refugee status
  • your Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ)
  • your Canadian Study Permit (SP)
If you are an International Student
  • your birth certificate with the first and last names of your parents
    At the start of your first semester:
  • your Certificat d'acceptation du Québec (CAQ)
  • AND your Canadian Study Permit (SP)
    An official or certified copy French or English translation is required for all documents that are not written in this two languages.

International students must hold valid documents, from the first to the last day of each term of enrolment at Polytechnique and of your presence in Quebec, in order to keep your student file active with Ministère de l'Éducation and maintain legal status in Canada or; you will be deregistered.

French students must provide a valid French passport to establish the tuition fees.
