I am Mansoureh Mohseni, a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering from Iran. Honorably, under the supervision of prof. Ajji, Prof. Wertheimer and prof. Rosenzweig, I will present my research about “An innovative 3D cell culture kit for cancer drug screening applications”.

What was your method of explaining your thesis in 3 minutes?
I will be explaining my research in a very simple and understandable way. I will also try to avoid using field-specialized words so it’s more attractive for other people who are not familiar and specialized in my subject. To catch the listener’s attention, I will ask a few questions to help their understanding. Then I’ll be answering them myself. I will talk about the challenges I faced in the way and what I have achieved in my daily research life. This way, the presentation is more engaging and less boring. All my 3 minutes thesis will be explained in a cool and friendly language to connect with the audience and make it more interesting.
What inspires you to do research?
I have a goal in my research and that is to make a change in the scientific world. In the process of reaching it, I learn a lot of incredible new things. The more I advance in my studies, the more I realise how unbelievable and complex god’s creations are. My goal makes me feel helpful in the society. Sure, I have some ups and downs in the reaching of it, but I think I can have a positive impact on other people's life and it’s my goal who ultimately keeps pushing me forward. I want to be an effective human in this word. I also enjoy the process of research, exploring new problems and potential solutions.
If you have to dedicate your research to anyone from the past, present, or future, who would it be and why?
I dedicate my research to my supportive and lovely husband and son who were always there for me and also went through my challenges and helped me deal with them. I would also dedicate my project to my incredibly kind and patient parents who also supported and encouraged me despite having to endure the pain of me being far away from them.
