Long title of research paper: Optimization of supercritical carbon dioxide fluid extraction of medicinal cannabinoids by a box behnekn design of experiments
Vulgarized title of research paper:  Medical cannabis oil extraction

Short presentation

My name is Hinane Boumghar and I have just completed my master's degree in biomedical engineering, under the supervision of professors Daria C-Boffito, Gregory Patience and Dr Yacine Boumghar.

My thesis project concerns optimizing medical cannabis oil extraction conditions, using supercritical CO2.

What was your method of explaining your thesis in 3 minutes?

I explain the problem, propose the solution, quote my results, and conclude.

What inspires you to do research?

After a course in biology, I learned about the receptors in the human body, and analyzing the active compounds of cannabis, I was inspired by the number of receptors it has in the human body and therefore I was curious to contribute to the development of a medical product based on cannabis.

If you have to dedicate your research to anyone in the past, present, or future, who would it be and why?

Nicolas Tesla, discovered the principle of using wireless electricity, and the human body is made of 70% water, which is very polar and electrically conductive, this inspires me that there are indeed healing mechanisms for several pathologies using the same principle.

3 key words to define your research

Cannabis, Medicine, Engineering.
